New York based designer Samantha Pleet, enjoys expressing her designs through movies, bringing her world to life. For her spring/summer 2014 collection, she created a wonderful short film, titled “Arcadia”, inspired by stories from Darwin’s journals written during his early voyages to the almost mythical land of Tierra del Fuego. Her inspiration also came from the paintings of some of her favorites artists such as Gauguin, Rousseau, and Matisse. I love the vintage feel and tropical vacation vibes; Pleet really knows how to set the mood for summer.
