When I went to visit the “Hat-ology” exhibition in Milan a few month ago I just fell in love with Anna Piaggi and her extensive hat collection. I thinks I just love her free spirit and eccentric style. This Fashion icon was born in 1931 in Milan and is well known for her exuberant, unique and eclectic style.
She began her career in the Sixties as the editor of Italian women’s magazine Arianna, before going on to become editor working with the illustrator Antonio Lopez at avant-garde publication Vanity in the Eighties. But she is best known for her work with Vogue Italia where she is remembered today for her artistic double pages (collages of photos and text pinpointing the cultural references behind current trends), which debuted in September 1988.
